Terms & Conditions for Players & Parents

1. Introduction & Agreement Welcome to the Kansai Youth Cricket Development Organization (NPO Preparation Committee) ("KYCO"). By registering your child for any of our programs, practices, or matches, you (the parent or legal guardian) and the registered player agree to abide by the following Terms & Conditions.

2. Participation & Safety

  • Program Structure: KYCO provides structured youth cricket coaching and our unique "English on the Pitch" language curriculum for age brackets ranging from Under-10 (U10) to Under-19 (U19).
  • Safety Compliance: Players must follow all safety instructions provided by the coaches and core team. Appropriate sportswear and proper footwear are mandatory. When batting or wicket-keeping, the use of designated protective gear (helmets, pads, gloves) is strictly required.

3. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

  • Acknowledgment of Risk: While KYCO makes uncompromising safety a priority, cricket is a physical sport. Parents and players acknowledge that participation involves inherent risks, including the potential for physical injury.
  • Liability Waiver: To the fullest extent permitted by Japanese law, parents and guardians agree that KYCO, its core team, coaches, and volunteers shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, or loss of personal property occurring during practices, matches, or travel to and from events.

4. Medical Emergency Authorization

  • Emergency Contact: Parents must provide accurate and up-to-date emergency contact information and medical/allergy details during registration.
  • Medical Treatment: In the event of a medical emergency where a parent or designated emergency contact cannot be immediately reached, the parent authorizes the KYCO core team to seek appropriate professional medical care or first aid for the player.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Respect and Sportsmanship: KYCO is built on absolute inclusivity and community. All players, parents, and spectators must treat teammates, opponents, coaches, and umpires with complete respect.
  • Zero Tolerance: Bullying, physical aggression, discriminatory language, or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated and may result in the player being suspended or permanently removed from the program.

6. Media and Photography

  • To celebrate our community, KYCO occasionally captures photos and videos during events. The use of any recognizable images of minors on our website or social media strictly depends on the explicit consent provided by the parent or guardian via the official registration form.

7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms or participation in KYCO programs shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Osaka District Court as the court of first instance.

By registering and acting as a volunteer, you agree to comply with the following Terms & Conditions to ensure a safe, structured, and positive environment for all participants.

2. Child Protection and Safeguarding

  • Safety First: The physical and emotional well-being of our youth players (U10 to U19) is our absolute highest priority.

3. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Guidance: Volunteers agree to follow the direction and guidance of the KYCO core team and designated head coaches.
  • Reliability: We rely on our volunteers to run our sessions smoothly. We ask that you arrive on time and communicate any cancellations to the core team as early as possible.
  • Inclusivity: Volunteers must actively uphold our value of absolute inclusivity, welcoming players of all backgrounds, genders, and skill levels.

4. Confidentiality

  • In the course of your duties, you may have access to personal information regarding players, parents, or other volunteers (such as names, medical conditions, or contact details).
  • Volunteers strictly agree to maintain the confidentiality of this information and not share it outside of necessary KYCO operations, in compliance with our Privacy Policy and Japanese privacy laws.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Professionalism: Volunteers act as representatives of KYCO. You are expected to demonstrate excellent sportsmanship, use appropriate language, and treat all players, parents, umpires, and fellow volunteers with respect.
  • Zero Tolerance: Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate removal from the volunteer program.

6. Assumption of Risk & Liability

  • While we strive to provide a safe environment, volunteering at sports events carries inherent risks. Volunteers acknowledge these risks and agree that KYCO, its core team, and its affiliates shall not be held liable for any personal injury or property damage sustained while volunteering, to the fullest extent permitted by Japanese law.

7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
